No Job Cuts Planned for Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois

A story focused on Land of Lincoln Goodwill was recently broadcast identifying them as a “Central Illinois” Goodwill. Land of Lincoln Goodwill and Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois are two
separate entities.

There are over 160 independently operated community based Goodwills in the US and Canada, each with local boards and local leadership. Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois, headquartered in Peoria, has not eliminated any positions for people with disabilities and has no plans to do so. Nor does the Peoria Goodwill participate in the Special Minimum Wage provision of the Fair Labor Standards Act. All employees of Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois are paid at or above the Illinois Minimum Wage.
