Goodwill Receives Disaster Recovery Grant from CFCI
Goodwill of Central Illinois has been awarded a Central Illinois Disaster Recovery Fund grant from the Community Foundation of Central Illinois (CFCI). The grant funds food, hygiene items, and PPE for program participants.
“This grant fills a need for people who are already facing challenges,” said Goodwill President and CEO Don Johnson. “Consider the struggles of someone trying to find a job or a veteran reintegrating into our community, they have a lot on their plate already. Now add COVID-19 to their worries. With this grant we can at least alleviate soon of their stress.”
According to CFCI President and CEO Mark Roberts, “We know the need is great, and our nonprofits need our help now more than ever.” CFCI was able to fund 12 organizations to further support their efforts related to COVID-19.
Goodwill continues to offer free employment services, veterans’ support services and youth services, through the pandemic. Services are offered both virtually and on a one on one basis.
