Goodwill Receives Grants from the Heart of Illinois United Way
Goodwill of Central Illinois has been awarded the Community Impact Fund Grants from the Heart of Illinois United Way. The funding covers digital skills training, employment services, and GoodGuides youth mentoring.
“The ability to support our community comes from many sources,” said Goodwill President and CEO Don Johnson. “We rely on donations from the people of Central Illinois, as well as the patronage of our shoppers. But to maintain the number of services and the high level of support, we need the help of the Heart of Illinois United Way. It has been a long and proud partnership and one that we never take for granted.”
Goodwill of Central Illinois offers job placement assistance, contact with local employers, resume building, digital skills training, veterans’ support services, and operates a 15-bedroom veterans’ home. In addition, GoodGuides youth mentoring and youth services are available. Goodwill employs more than 300 people throughout Central Illinois.
