Goodwill Receives Grant from The Caterpillar Foundation
Peoria, IL – October 12, 2017 – The Caterpillar Foundation has awarded Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois a workforce development grant for the Peoria Metro Region.
“This grant is about putting people to work through the skills and training needed to find and maintain quality employment,” said Don Johnson, Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois’ President and CEO. “Through this funding we will be able to hire an employment specialist and continue to meet our community’s need for employment services.”
Goodwill’s free employment services include: job search assistance, hiring events, resume building assistance, computer skills training and much more. “We share Caterpillar Foundation’s vision of alleviating poverty and putting people on a path to prosperity,” said Lori Johnson, Goodwill’s Director of Program Services. “Our goal is to serve 500 job seekers through our program, assisting them in not only gaining, but sustaining employment.”
